well i was working on my celica, changing the struts and noticed it has abs sensors on all the wheels, so i started looking further and the abs motor and valve body is there too. Now i didnt know the car had abs when i bought it, kuz its not working. ive check every fuse and relay that i thought of, and all are fine. i did notice the front sensor wire was taped up, so it may be damaged. is it possible the car has abs, but the sensor is bad and the abs light in the dash is burnt or not there, so it doesnt light up? where is the abs light in the gauge cluster? its a 94 gts.

It is possible for the abs sensor to be bad and no light to show up if the bad sensor is looped to think it's still working. But, I think all 4 sensor's would have to be done in your situation.

Your ABS light should come on when the key is in the ON position while it checks the system just like all the other warning lights. If it does not then you either don't have ABS or the light is out.

Check for codes in the ABS system, if there are any codes they will still show up even if the light on the dash is out.

i believe the abs light would be on the right side of the gauge cluster by the check engine light and fuel light. but i'm not quite sure as i don't have it either.

ok well i think the light must be on then. I have aftermarket gauge faces and they dont have a spot for the abs or cruise control lights, but the light on the bottom right side of the cluster is on all the time, just doesnt say abs. i check all the bulbs and they all work, so i assume that must be the abs one. ill check the sensor that has the wrapped up wire next, it must be damaged. the last owner did the work on it so im not sure what the deal is.
