Well I am officially back in the t20 game. The supra was sold to a new owner that will really enjoy it 2 days ago. I sold it because the MPG and reliabilty were just killing me, and the age of it was apparent everywhere, but god I will miss that power. After getting the supra cash squared away I took the train down to Southern California yesterday to pick up this with the help of MaskedMan. Then, with the assistance of rags, cardboard, and a trip to home depot, loaded up all kinds of goodies from a st205 clip for the drive home. I took off from Ontario at around 6pm in the rain and darkness and ended up getting home at around 2am(400 mile drive roughly). I got around 31 mpg on the drive home, which was great as the engine is very old and I had a good sized load. Anyway, the car is a fully loaded 94 GT hatch with 251k on it(original engine) that I snagged for a great price(Thanks Mike!). Luckily driving home I did not have ANY problems which surprised the crap out of me as I had around 200lbs worth of parts in the car and the grapevine is one hell of a climb for a car with 250k on it. The car came with a few mods already done, such as slotted and drilled rotors, a header and muffler, painted interior, and a duct taped intake smile.gif.

Today I was able to tear into it, discovering a few things(nothing too terrible). I found that one of the CV boots is ripped and the joint is bone dry, causing it to make a horrible noise when you turn sharp with the clutch engaged. Two of the motor mounts are cracked badly causing the engine to move when shifting, and finally that the brake rotors were installed backwards and the lugs were tightened with 500 million lbs of torque. HOWEVER, the compression was 180-181 across all 4 which astonished me(i was expecting to have to replace the engine), as well as the tires having great tread all around. The plans for this celica will be revealed when they occur, but just know that I bought the car with MPG and reliability in mind, so the power train wont be touched drastically(like the rest of the car will wink.gif ). Anyway, onto the buttload ofpictures.

Loaded up getting ready to leave Derricks house in Ontario:

Stopping at the other side of the grapevine to let the car rest a bit:

Loaded up:

Washed and ready for biness:

The short term plan for to get the car running 100% and registered legally. The car was in a front end accident(Pic) so it has to pass a VIN inspection. Also ill be replacing both axles and putting in Kirkosaurus motor mounts. On the train ride down i ordered all kinds of crap on ebay, including a full car LED conversion. sway bar bushings, HIDs, a new escort 8500 x50 radar detector, and some 4" round fogs( wink.gif ). Tomorrow I hope to install the OEM manifold, pass smog, and be able to prop the headlights in enough so that I can pass the VIN inspection so i can register it all in one day.

All the interior red will go bye bye eventually. I don't HATE it, but it won't be staying.

It's good to be back!

So today I got a few things done, I installed the OEM header to pass smog(The car is so much quieter/better sounding and more responsive IMO, so it will be staying). I also pulled the front end apart to start re-bending and hopefully get the lights reset. Got it off and both the high beams were wedged really really badly into the radiator support, all the tabs on both were completely broken, along with the crash bar being DESTROYED. Then used one of my old cracked high beams off my ST and taped up the other hoping it would fool the lamp tester($75 for a f*cking lighting test). My plan didn't work. So now I have to replace all 4 for one reason or another to pass. But the car passed the brake test with flying colors. The guy was unable to smog the car as it has to be done at a "test only facility" Thank you California. On Wednesday I plan to make the drive over to Santa Rosa to meet with member Greyform and CAMAricer to pick up some parts for the front end. Then Thursday i'll get a retest on the lights and if it passes smog ill be able to register it!!

Just a suggestion, but I would put synchromesh in the gearbox unless you enjoy a nice grinding sound as you shift from second to third. I should know, lol.

I don't feel like spending $20 a blade when anco 31s are comparable in performance.

I think the ST to GT difference is the one I notice most, but I do like the hatchback.

It did grind the first time from 2nd to 3rd as I got onto the highway. But ever since then its been fine.

Anyway.I HAS SO MANY JDMS <3

New black interior and 7th gen short shifter:

Had to redo the whole front end as well.

Going back together:

maybe if you measured in 30% of ethanol in the tank to lean out the afr and get a better smog? ethanol burns cleaner anyways...

My grandfather has anco's on his mercedes and he said he put them on a year ago and they are a mess...streak is like 90% of it...Bought him bosch icons for 42$ and they supposedly can last up to 2 years so I guess It is a bargain instead of changing it twice...

I failed smog BARELY...There are 3 or 4 things that could be causing my NO levels to be over. The line from the idle up to the TB is disconnected, the car runs warm, and I added in a fuel additive, so ill reconnect the vac, bleed the coolant, and put some 91 in the tank. Tomorrow ill play with a few other things and then resmog, and it should pass. But I did pass the lamp test today. Yea I will most likely get some boschs sometime, but for now the ancos are fine for 6$ each.
