So i was taking the wood grain on my dash off today and to get the extra adhesive off i used googone, never use it on your car. I learned this the hard way, cuz it ate through the gloss on my dash trim and also through the prnd21 panel on my auto trim. I can deal with the trim and just sand/paint it but the auto shifter panel is messed up. Does anyone have one that they could sell me cheap?

Auto shifter trim is messed up? Time for a manual swap then.

Yeah, Goo Gone and Goof Off fog the hell out of plastics. I'm fairly certain there's a way for you to be able to re-clear the plastic piece you're talking about... I think you could probably sand it down and polish it with some fine-grit sandpaper and compound. If not, flame-polishing it might also work.
I assume you know how to get it out? I never could figure out how to get that panel out the "proper" way. I always got stuck with getting the shifter knob out. Do you happen to know where the overdrive switch is plugged into so you can pull the shifter right out? -------------------- ~Moving on to a 2002 Corolla S~ R.I.P Tom Celica - 1994-2010 |
