So about 2 months ago I Bought a 97 GT liftback. It is my 3rd Toyota(hence the username) I have a 93 Corolla that I have recently had a bunch of paint and body work done to a 96 Corolla and now my 97 GT

So far my plans are to beef it up a little bit. Mostly by just unclogging it

what I've done so far:
KYB GR-2 all the way around
Slotted and drilled rotors
Ceramic Pads
New Valve Cover gasket (painted black while I had it off cleaning
New oil pan Gasket
Thorough cleaning of the engine and bay( still not quite satisfied will most likely make another pass)
Weapon R Dragon series SRI
Functional Sharkfin Antenna conversion
Reverse Glow Gauges (Black Face)
7th Gen short throw with a black suede blue stitch boot
17" Enkei Performance GW8 wheels
Twin piston calipers from a 94 camryV6

Future plans Include:
High Flow cat
High Flow cat delete/resonator
Dual exhaust
Will probably use a set of aftermarket side mirrors with LED turns built in
Projectors in lows and highs with Amber led strips for turns inside the housings. Going to go through the retrofit source for the projectors
Pakfiefer skirts and rear
Most likely an invader style front bumper

Recently upgraded my door panels. Found a totaled vert in the local yard. Door cards were trashed but I was able to salvage the 4" speakers and grills

I was never much a fan of matte black paint jobs, but I have to say that car looks sleek. Nice work + progress so far, man.

Do all convertible celica models have the extra 4" speaker in the door panel?

*edit* Answer - Some celica's came with an optional 8 speaker stereo set up. I will be looking for a pair of these door panels.

Close up of the new wheels repainted the caps. The wiper arms will match shortly along with the calipers

Just a little update
Got the axle seal fixed, alignment done and a new set of rubber up front because somehow I managed to drive all the tread of them in less than 3k miles... Been back on the ground now for about a week and I have to say if anyone is thinking about break upgrades go for it. I used 94 camryV6 twins and they work great and bolt right up to our brackets. Performance isn't as noticeable as on my hope for until you get into hard breaking, which I don't do much, but for less than 50 bucks for the pair at my local junk yard I would have to say it's most definitely worth it.

Ouch!

I take it you're safe and sound? I hope so. Will you be scrapping it or are there plans to repair it?

Yeah I'm OK surprisingly I was a little sore for a couple days but that was all. Cop wrote the accident report wrong and I got a ticket for failure to yield. U have to get all that and the wait on insurance to tell me what if anything the will pay out. Then it's off to a frame and body shop were I have someone who says he can fix it if I can pay for it. With not having been able to find d a suitable replacement it's either going to be fixed or I will part it out and unfortunately move on to a different car

Jeeeez, glad you're okay - that's the most important thing, always - but that sucks big time. Poor thing was looking so fine, it would be a shame to have to part it out/scrap it now. Hopefully it can be fixed, it would be nice to see it back in good shape. I know I'd be devastated if my car got slammed like that; I hope everything works out for you, man.
