Haw-haw!

I'll say it again, I knew you would. You'll end up building something awesome for the Miata. Maybe a rally light pod?

I knew I would too. I think this means I need to sell it and buy a NA8 so I can go back to my mosquito melters, because f*** H1 bi-xenons.

All the cars with sealed beams that're worth buying means money and they're no newer than '97, unless I'm missing something.

You're not missing anything, except your headlights. laugh.gif If you sell the current car for a different one you'll miss the current car and sell the new one for a different one. You need to just get one car you can love all the time. Get a 7th gen GTS, awesome halogen projector low beams, even awesomer projector HID as an option, good high beams, nice fog lights, peppy performance, nice handling, high revving fun, ugly plastic interior, polarizing exterior, Toyota reliability.

I could do HID in the Miata, maybe even squeeze D2S in there. I just prefer the high wattage halogen E-codes above all else. I could swap the original suspension back onto the '01 before selling it, then put the Fat Cat Motorsports coil-overs onto a NA8.

Or just never drive at night again, either way.

Yeah, or you could let me drive once in a while.

I was thinking, I remember coming across that late '05 Miatas went to H7 projectors; probably the same as the 7th gen Celica and NC Miata. Hate to know how much they'd cost for marginal improvements.

Similar at least maybe. I still thing with enough duct tape, grunting, lube, shaving, and just the right dirty words you could get some bixenon into the current Miata.

They'd have to be some kind of D2S for me to remotely like them, at least they have somewhat of a hotspot. I contemplated somehow putting 4x6 E-codes into the housings, but that's probably impossible.

Of course!

I have some D2S 3.0 in square that I've never used, from what I recall they're decent AND weird looking. I ended up going with G5R projectors straight from China because I ended up needing round and a different shroud. I even have a pair of shrouds but I'm not sure how useful any of that would be. Like the laptop, just give me shipping cost and they're yours. If you're hip to be square I'll send you some pictures.

I'm not sure square would look good considering the round projector and round running/turn signal light that'd be off to the sides of it, as I'd replace the high beam with the bi-xenon and make a wiring harness so it all works the way I want it to. *thinks*

They have those hw4beses premade plug n play to keep the bix low beam on, open the solenoid, and maintain high beam power. Though it's not hard to DIY that either.

The way I'd be doing it I'd want the halogen low beam and bi-xenon low on at the same time, the high beam flips the cutoff shield of the bi-xenon. Won't be hard to do, though the halogen low beam will just be dead weight I'm sure. Hmmm... *thinks*

It won't be dead weight, light is light. It'll add some warmth to the beam, you could wire it to come on with fog lights? Heck you could mod the cutoff in them to be high beams .

Hmm true, could put clear lenses on and mod the cut off then just move the wiring around so they're high beams. Though keeping them as low beams I thought about throwing in yellow tinted bulbs to give colour contrast in hopes of improving visibility.

Ooooh yeah. The GP Thunder 3500K or 2500K (the bluey-yellow glass ones) are pretty decent bulbs, I run them in my fog lights on the Celica because I'm a sucker for yellow fogs on cars like mine.

Previous owner put yellow bulbs in the Miata's fog lights, no idea what brand or anything though.

Nice, yellow yellow or like watered down lemonade yellow? I'm pretty sure it's the 2500K that I like. I did get a set of the 3500K as well but they're barely yellow compared to the 3500K, since the fogs don't do much on the Celica with the HID low beams light output isn't critical, it's more about the cool looks.
