its way overpriced, swapping or custom turbo setup is the way to go.

Well its a packaged system that gives you about 7 psi and is good for about a 45 - 50 HP increase. Its possible to boost to 10 psi with the proper upgrades such as an intercooler and exhaust

not to be an ass, but their site has all the information on the kit.

if you want to know of first hand experience, there arent many people with the kit that visit this forum very often

um yea the ppl at burien are idiots. i was on the phone with them one time and i mentioned the 3sgte swap, and he told me i would get more power out of their turbo kit. then i asked him about how much more power i could expect, he said 40-45, and then i told him that the 3sgte will bring it up to 225-255. he readily changed the subject. for the same as the kit u can easily get a 2nd gen clip and get it installed. a 3rd gen might cost u a lil bit more, but definitely more worth it that the burien kit.

The kit IS NOT a bad kit(little pricey) but spares you a scavenger hunt. the 3s is great but alot of these kids run thier mouths about but dont have it and dont understand the HASTLE of actually aquiring the engine(how many miles does it REALLY have, was it RAGGGED, will it WORK for 10k miles before something pops) *Sighs* its a good engine but its a royal pain to really get up and running. The burien is a 6psi in a box, no looking for a turbo, a manifold, injectors, pipping, oil lines, nuts n bolts etc etc. Slap on an Intercooler and hit 8-10psi. You might want some pistons, rods if you want higher boost but despite waht people say its not that bad.

yes...but how many years can you get out of it at 6psi?

im not really convinced that the 5sfe takes well to a turbo. it seems like the guys with the STs are having more luck with turbos then the GT guys.

Thats because the st guys have spent alot of time and $ getting their set ups running correctly. Alot of them have mutch more than the "Needed" things.

time, and work and nickle and diming everywhere

i could easily take several parts off of my car and still run at 4-5psi

the 5sfe is a lot stronger than people say. mr2 guys do a head swap and turbo the car and get great results on stock internals

the burien kit is very $$$ and not nearly complete. but if you hate hunting for parts and doing custom fabbing. then go for it.

all it is is a 3sgte manifold and a ct26 turbo, a bov, a map, bigger injectors, downpipe, and a charge pipe

i got my whole setup for about $2k so far running a smic, still need a fmic and fuel pump

well hey thanks guys, i think im gonna go ahead and try the Burien Kit. It seems like it is just easier and more convient to go with it as oppose to the 3SGTE. But i am going to go ahead and upgrade my internals at the same time.

i have one more possibility for you to look into before you get the burien kit.

a company named RippMods is now offering a SuperCharger for the 5sfe. its costs a little more then the burien kit but you also get more stuff with it. the owner claims that the setup is very realiable and that you will not have any problems with it. the kit has been dynoed at around 200hp to the wheels. it would be great to see a least one celica owner pick this up.

here is a link to a celica.net post about this.

I have the Burien setup, and Im very happy of the performance. With an extra few mods you can run 10lbs of boost sustained. This my daily driver and I depend on it.

The only drawback is that if you have a AT you might want to start looking for a MT soon. The torque will make the AT slip after a few months. I have complete instructions on how to do this cuase I swapped the trannys not to long ago.

But like everyone here says 3sgte is the way to go. I just picked one up for 400 bucks at local junk yard. and I will be swapping soon.

good luck
