Is it a shame to paint a carbon hood? Lets say I buy a hood and mold a fiberglass scoop in it. It would like like crap unless I paint that part of the scoop/mold? So whats the purpose show versusl ight weight-function? what should I do? Also guys with scoops are you having problems when it rains/carwashs? is the water getting anywhere where it should not? Thanks madmods

Actually carbon fibre hoods usually look like crap so Id paint it either way, in my opinion.

hey stipt! that's a cool carbon fiber hood you got LOL
What I would recomend doing madmods is to get the scoop grafted into the hood.. paint the scoop and area around it and then where the carbon fiber still looks good... have them lightly spray paint over that... if it is done right then you still retain some of the carbon look... I have seen it before and its really cool looking from a distance it will look slightly darker but when you get closer to the car then you will see the CF threw the paint.. it looks badass if done right -------------------- 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |

i don t think you can paint one properly, you need a current running though it so the paint sticks, carbon isnt metal, (i dnt think?) you could spary it yourself with DIY stuff.

you can paint the CF. Just (as neverstop said) paint the center section. Then, go over the rest of the hood with a candy paint that matches the center part. It'd be REALLY nice looking
