Hi guys, I'm starting to buy all I need to build a 7AFTE.
My question for you is: Can I use the CT20 (in ST205) turbocharger for 8PSI of boost? Which are positive and negative aspects of this turbo for my application? |

you'd be best off using a t3/t40B turbo, anything bigger won't fit. go here... www.jgstools.com/turbo and talk to lance, i just bought a lot of my stuff. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

Yeah, I already knew that website. I think to take their headers and maybe also the turbocharger.
What do you think about their intake manifold???? Can I expect a significant increase in performance? Thanks |

It will. Seems somewhat bigger than the stock.
But how much, I do not know. See if you can get some figures from them. If not, give twmindcution.com a call. There stuff are use in super street & racing. |

the intake mani by itself probably won't see you get much more power. those are really meant as upgrades for cars with a turbo or supercharger, that's when you will see some good gains, not with a naturally aspirated engine. for 499, it's not worth it unless you already have a turbo or SC. -------------------- 1994 Lexus ES300

No. not for that cost. If you were talking 400hp+, it would make sense. A lot of parameters are involved. Takes things slowly and do some research. Check out that link I send you. chat with them and see what you want and where you wnat to be 6mnth or a year from now. -------------------- West_Minist

Ok, here is a thought. Would I come out ahead to re-build and turbo my 7A or to drop in a 101 4-agze?

It is kind of hard to say.
You see, the 7A is not a performance engine and is not capable of handling a very good turbo setup unless you strengthing it. If you are aining for alot of hp, let say to 300hp, it is better to go with the 4AGZE or even 4AGTE where alot of part are readily available for that engine. But if you want a project, the 7A would be nice to turbocharge. -------------------- West_Minist

I would go w/ the 4agze, in my opinion its less of a hassle then turbocharging your 7afe because it is boosted from the factory and therefore built to handle it. Also, with intake, exhaust, and a new pulley etc. you can have it up to 200 hp.

Well, Now all I need is the time and money to drop in a 4a-gze. You think a turboed 4a could make over 300 on stock internals? Also, as I am sure many of you have read, HKS I think it was made a twin charging kit for the gze. What would happen if you turboed it and ran the intake pipe from the turb to the super charger? I wonder how that would turn out?
