Yup. BUT, I highly suggest against a short ram. I've dynoed them....they'll make less power than the stock intake. Unless you live in alaska or siberia, then it probably doesn't matter. |

that doesn't make sense because when you dyno a car you have the hood open and a very large fan pointing right at the front end..... there's giong to be little excess heat "trapped" in the engine bay (which is the purpose of having it open and fan)..... |

The ebay ones are crap, just talking in hot air, get one like mine, where the "point of entery" is up frunt, sucking in cold air, well actualy at higher speed's the air is pushed right in giving a little boost on the freeway. back to the ebay intakes, you would just be spending $25 on a peace of tube, and a worthless filter, I dont recomend them at all.

here's the problem with CAI's that EVERYONE seems to forget..... moving air is going to cause friction to the intake tubing.... it will warm up (and so will the air as it continues to move through a long pipe at a high velocity). And the air is not "boosted" in. There is no way that there is any kind of force of air enough to compress the air while it travels through 1-2 feet of piping and having to go through corners if anything, the biggest problem with all aftermarket intakes is their size. The TB inlets are no more that around 2.5" wide. You hook up a 3" intake tube and use a reducer. What do you think when all the air at th reducer travels from 3" to 2.5" (a smaller pipe). It WON'T speed up, if anything it slows down and the TB only picks up what the engine needs. the best way a CAI i've seen done is in an ae102 corolla. (racer25) he used 2.5" mandrel bent tubing, relocated the battery to the trunk, and ran it to through a hole into the fender, and use as little turns as possible. |
