Anyway.....
Putting a box around the filter will not give you any ram effect. The airflow through the radiator inlet just isn't sufficient. Properly designing an operating ram air setup is very difficult. It will only work if installed to breathe from the highest pressure areas in the front of the car. This can only be determined through areodynamic analysis and testing. I've never dynoed an intake on a 5s but I can't speak for the 7a. My intake produces a max gain of 10hp at about 4500rpm and just over 3hp and the peak (around 5600rpm). Torque gains are 10+ throughout the power band and a max of 13ft-lbs. I'd hardly call that nothing. |

well its not through the radiator inlet. its the inlet on the right... it just leads to the wheel well and the bumper light sits in there. so if you seal that off with a box and your intake runs into that box you figure drivin down the highway at anywere from 55mph+ your pushing a hecka air through there at some decent psi. this is just the way i'm lookin at it. but what your presenting speedtoe is good point. thanks for your imput any further imput would be great. help on this would be appreciative too (idea help that is)
