ok after reading all of the completed swaps. no one ever mentioned having to move the ac and cruise control and i thought this was a problem. does the ac need to be moved with high pressure lines? and does the cruise control need to be mounted elsewhere? thanks

Mike (qatar) is trying to see if my A/C will work after my swap. A lot of people started the swap with non functioning A/C as it was, or did not want to include the A/C. The cruise control works on David's (ToYCeLi8) car.

when you have that kind of power/speed, you dont want to just cruise... and throw down the windows, all that power/speed will give you a nice breeze but whats it matter anyway? if someone would rather have AC/Cruise over a 3S-GTE, then they have a mental deficency...

I don't think anyone would rather have AC/Cruise over a 3S-GTE... BUT there's nothing wrong with having both. 1. A/C is good for people who live in EXTREMELY hot regions. 2. Cruise would be good for people who drive long distances. Keep in mind that you're not gonna be racing or boosting ever second that you hit the round. Whoever does do TRY to race every second they hit the road has a mental deficiency. This post has been edited by kuya1284: Mar 16, 2004 - 12:25 PM |

I would have to say yes... it is a bad thing... especially if you're driving in traffic, in a residential area, etc. If I was still 16... I would say no. But now that I'm 26 and have been into accidents (mind you, ALL NOT MY FAULT), I don't go out instigating. When I was 20, I got into a really bad accident because some STUPID 16 year old kid, with his 10 year old brother, rear ended me causing my ex-gf and I to get serious whiplash. I really don't know what possessed him to drive SO FREAKIN FAST in stop and go traffic. Fortunately, I left enough distance b/w the car in front of me... so I didn't hit the person. But to this day, I still feel the effects of that accident. The amount of money I won from the accident doesn't even make up for the pain that I feel from time to time. (I still can't believe that kid tried to accuse me of cutting him off and slamming on my breaks!! *sigh*) So to answer your question again... yes... it is a bad thing to TRY racing (errr... driving wrecklessly) every second one hits the road. i've been in plenty of accidents. (none my fault either) they tried to accuse me of slamming into them, changing lanes into them, goin too fast, ect... It dont work. I always take great pictures, have witnesses, and have a great lawyer.(personal friend)
The last accident, some lady was on my left and tried to cut me off real quick to get into a parking lot. I was driving at arround 35-40 when she sped up and drove accross me to get in the parking lot. I hit the break, and she slammed me on my driver side and onto the curb making my car break a bus stop. i swear, i felt like !@#$ for about 4 months, and still feel messed up once in a while. My car was completely ruined. i got a lot of money, but still not enough for everything i went through. One good thing is that there was nobody at the bus stop at the moment. so i agree with you when you say, dont drive like a freeking moron or idiot on the street. That goes for young kids, or whatever age you may be. A car can also be considered weapon, so use it responsibly. sorry, i talk too much o_0 This post has been edited by sphinx: Mar 16, 2004 - 2:28 PM |

Yeah... LA drivers suck... Looks like we've been through the same crap. Your last accident sounds very similar to my second-to-the-last accident. I hit this one chick as she was making an UNSAFE left-turn... I broke her axles and I messed up my front end. This happened several years ago. I'm just glad she didn't try to argue with me as to whose fault it was. |

Personally, I don't think I would want a car in Texas without A/C. I guess I'll have to side with the 7afe over the 3sgte for now as long as the Celica is the daily driver.

I live in Louisiana, and A/C is a must with the heat and humidity here. It'd be worth having (or making) some custom refrigerant lines, if that's even a possibility.

Its not really about the hardware, the compressor, or AC lines and what not.
its that the ECU is controlling the A/C and making sure that the ECU gets all the right information and is happy.... and since we are jumping evolutions in the toyota wiring system.. (i.e. 90-93 to now 94-98) there are a few differences. -------------------- -Mike

my cruise control: well no one before me gave a **** about cruise control, so they didnt have experience doing that, but the guy with a gt-4 conversion has his cruise control working... Mina |
