So I went to the track last night to run my GT. Only mod are an intake, wheels, and tires(Eagle F1's, they own j00) And I only squeezed off a 17.3. Now I didn't launch at all. I just went from idel. So what would you launch at with a stock clutch?

BTW, I still managed to own the riced out civic i ran.

in Utah (5000ft elevation) I ran a 17.8 in my GT with 2 12" subs in the trunk and only mod was intake. Running in Vegas (2030ft) tomorrow, I'll post my time. I have Intake, Exhaust, Performance Cluth, minus the subs, and I'm a better driver now.

my best stock was a 16.3 in my GT. I would launch at about 1500 and 2000 it worked for me and my stock clutch.

i used to launch when the boost gauge said 8psi, lol

at my elevation(2200ft) the little g tech type thingy said i ran low 15's

so at sea level, thats mid to high 14's at 8psi with a DSM intercooler, full tank, full trim, and a 220lb passenger while running rich.

auto tranny btw. 1-2 shift = major torque steer with 2psi boost spike, sometimes the tires would spin a little

I ran a 17.7 in my dying-7A-FE powered ST. Once the track opens up I'll run it again with the new engine. smile.gif

Next time you go to the track do the following.
go back to 15 inch rims. Drag racing is all about the launch and the bigger the rim the more power you need to get those heavy wheels moving. remove rear seat.....tire....rear plastics..... rear bumper ....... and add some light as hell 14 inch spare donut wheels in the rear... still not fast enough remove front bumper and front windshield remove doors and rear window also remove the driver seat and while your at it remove the hood and stock intake box and cut the exhaust and run off the cat .... after that youll be hitting mid to low 16s smile.gif

was bored at work , sorry just a little joke biggrin.gif

there's gonna be some of us best buy guys (and possibly my roommate?) going up to the track in vancouver to find our 1/4 miles..... (to coomer)... if ya wanna go you can & i'll let ya know...

i ran a 17.6 in my ae92 (4a-fe) full interior and 100LB sub box..... ran a 17.33 in the same car with trunk cleaned out, backseat gone, pass seat gone, and a breaking tranny... with the new tranny it was faster (didn't run, but knew it was... probably could have pulled a 17.1~ and 3rd gear pull was better).... i'm guessing my 4a-ge will get me into the high 15's w/o interior....

I call them slow-licas for a different reason than running high 1/4 times...

(I'm hoping people actually caught that joke...it's not good but I tried)

You should run better than that...I launched my auto GT at about 3400 rpm..but never actually went to the track and got times. I'd beat Civics that ran low to mid 16s at the track though.

I ran 16.7 with 17's... 1/2 tank of gas and full interior. I can probably shave that down to mid-low 16's with better tires... my 60' times suck ass...
