($50 a peice). I have a interfire amp its really good and I have seen the those sub and for the money they are really good.

ok, first off, dont get sony, ... they suck! stright up, if you h=want somtihng good, get rockford, best sound an pretty cheap, also look at getting us amp's great sound and very cheap, also i would say you dont need much more then one 10" I would say like 200-400 watts, i know my sub's are way to powerfull an i never even turn them up maybe a 1/5th the way.

I have a different opinion about rockfords they are probably the most overrated sub on the market and the quality just doesn't match the price(wat over priced.) Now, the reason I suggested the sonys is because i have heard them and the sound quality exellent and to top it off they CHEAP. I use to think that sony suck major a$$ but i changed my mind when i got a chance to listen to them. (Aluminum hexagonal cones) True enough they can't handel the power of the rockfords but then again rockfords sound like S***. If you want to get a really really good subs get infinity perfect 10.1s. For the money they are the best.

Personally, for a really good value for a high quality sub, I suggest an Adire Shiva, or maybe a Tempest. Also, any of Elemental Designs' subs are great values for the money.
But really, we can't provide you with good suggestions unless you give us some requirements of what you're looking for in a sub. What type of music do you listen to? Are you into SQ, SPL, or both? How much space do you want to use for your system? How much money do you have to spend? -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

They may not be as good as people say they are, but I haven't had any probs with mine at all. I have 2 10" Rockford fosgate punch Z's and I think they sound great. You have to have the right setup in your car, meaning you can't be pushing too many watts into a low powered sub or you will be blowing it out or loosening the rubber around it. And make sure that you have them out of the sun, because the sun can warp speakers. |

My personal preference----X-PlóD
People don't seem to like them very much but I love em', when I bought my sterio this is what I thought- Sony Head Unit-Sony Speakers=Bad Pioneer Headunit-sony speakers=GOOD Right now I have Lightning Audio Strike Subs installed, with a Jensen amp, and for the money i paid I couldn't be happier. Though I just bought some new audio toys today. The Sony P5 subs are a real monster if you got em' set up right. |

you've got to be kidding me. you made fun of sony and promoted RF?? Dude, RF is not that good anymore. Their old stuff is reminiscent of audiobahn today, meaning it was quite decent. however, their newer (in the last 4 years or so) stuff sucks. At least promote Kicker or Image Dynamics or Brahma... -------------------- |

i dont care what anybody says i hate audiobahn is all show no go , sure some get loud , but the sq is poor ,i dont see why they need all that chrome , but thats my opinon , as for the choice have no favorites , but i have good luck with jl wo's 12's . alpine type r's one is more the you'll evr need , and even soem cheap concept cse's i have had 6 of those in my blazer and they sounded pretty good for only paying 300 bucks for the set , and for the amp doesn't matter really just dont go cheap , a good amp can make the difference between a good sounding system and a pile of distorted junk

I am running audiobahn because I will be competing, and they look good. The SQ is as good as older RF, trust me. Plus, it's more enclosure than components I'm willing to bet you that my mentor's two 12 inch audiobahns and his 1000W RMS audiobahn amp will play louder and cleaner than damn near anything you can come up with that has the same RMS rating. It's all in the enclosure and design. This post has been edited by MoralWarfare: Feb 28, 2004 - 12:00 PM -------------------- |

Everyone just needs to calm down. Everyone has their own needs and desires when it comes to subwoofers, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

You guys have alot of mixed feelings here, I was an autosound installer for many years, worked with Brooklyn's Best Audio when I lived in NY, and helped Mike Mineo with his Camaro... Rockford Fosgates are still making quality products, odds are (and this goes for every speaker) if your blowing the foam surround, or pushing the voice coil past the limit it is your fault not the speakers, people believe you can throw a subwoofer in a box and go... if the box is smaller than spec calls for you CANNOT throw the rated rms at it, if the box is too big you would need double the rms to keep it sounding nicely which results in overthrow of the coil...
Think about it... if you build the box right and to specs almost any speaker on the market would thump and sound somewhat decent. Anyways here is my suggestions.... AMPS: Precision Power, MMATS, Rockford Fosgate, Pheonix Gold SUBS: JL Audio, Kicker (only reason I say this is because I had kicker comps in one of my cars once and the sub took a beaten and kept going), Audiobahn COMPONENTS: MB QUART or FOCAL and please for the love of god pick up a good crossover, Audio Control for example. no, I KNOW what I'm talking about. Trust me. These words might as well have come from me mentor, a USAC and IASCA judge, and the 4th place national competitor for SQ in 1998, along with number one competitor in New England. However, let's not argue about stupid **** like this. Anyone can make a system sound bad, even if they've got Adire Shivas in the rear with MB Quart pro-series fronts, as long as they don't know what they're doing. However, I know you can make Earthquake sound good if you know how to design systems well. -------------------- |
