I know there are other posts on this whole topic, and i'm not asking a how realistic question, or a how much question..instead I want some other facts.
You see my parents paid for majority of the car, and are therefor the "real" owners, if there is such a thing. They think that making it a manual is a very bad idea. Recently my step-dad sent an "unbiased" e-mail to his buddy asking about the transmission swap. Well, i read the e-mail and he had asked for a way to persuade me away from it. Basically all the guy was even able to come up with was un-necessary cost, a Neutral Safety loss and a cruise control loss. Well, who cares about Cruise Control, and Neutral Safety just sounds like a funky way to say "you'll have a clutch that you need to use while stopping". So what i would LOVE to have is a professional-like summary of what troubles there are or are NOT in this swap, and why it is a greatly valued change for a true sports car. Thanks, Steve This post has been edited by Consynx: Mar 28, 2004 - 10:26 PM -------------------- |
