Well my clutch has finaly started to slip a little bit. I guess i'm not too surprised since it has 154,000 on the clock and it is really the first car I leanred to drive a manual on.

I've called around on quotes to get replaced and this is what I have got:

Toyota dealership: $622

Local auto shop: $475-500
or just $300 for the labor.

Anyone know the cheapest place for me to find a replacement clutch? I'm don't need a racing clutch as I am not making enough power and honestly don't feel like I ever will be. Just need a cheap, quality replacement clutch. I have a ST by the way.

Thanks
Mark

Ok,

looking around I was albe to find this oem replacment Daikin brand. Anyone know anythng about them? What about this website I"m buying it off of. Here is a link

http://www.coximport.com/Merchant2/merchan...t_Code=DK-KTY18

With getting the clutch at $105 and being quoted $300 for labor that means I cold get this all done for around $430 which doesnt sound to bad. What do u guys think?

can you get blueprint parts over there - essentially made to the standards of the totyta stock. If the dealers can;t get one from toyota uk stock when required for a customer - they get a blue print one - essentially they're the same item !

Blueprint parts - http://www.blueprint-adl.co.uk/

I had to replace the clutch in my 99 GT, previous owner had ridden it badly so the friction plates were worn to the rivets.

The toyota dealer I took it to gave me a price on a 'stock' toyota clutch. As he does a lot of work for the uk club - he recommended I get a 'blueprint' one as they are pretty much the same clutch kit just in a different box- just a lot cheaper as they don't come from toyota stock. It cost me about £100 - then got it fitted by Toyota when they did the service.

It's also been mentioned that if Toyota don't have the part in stock in the UK parts warehouse and they can get a 'blueprint' part quicker - they will get a blueprint part ....

i looked into it on that website and it apears that is pretty much just a UK thing. doesn't look like it would be much of an option for me over here in the US.

thakns for the suggestion though, keep them coming
