I am having a damn tough time taking off the cover off my rearview mirror in order to take it off so i can paint it... anyone got any ideas besides trying to rip the cover off =P

Just went down to my car to check it out, but I'm kinda drunk and didn't want to do anything I'd regret in the morning. However, in my drunken escapades, it seems like some gentle prying with a flathead screwdriver at the base should pop it off.
