i think most of the times this has been disgust, unless you either have put alot into customizing your car so you want to keep it, or your doing another big project like a swap, its better to just sell your car and buy one already that has a 5spd...

I did the AT to MT swap in my car. Yes, it might have been cheaper to ditch my car and get one with a MT, but after so many years with my car, i had grown attached to it and was not about to just give her up cause i wanted something new. So the swap was my only option. If you do a search (which i recommend since this has been discussed countless amoutn of times) youll find parts lists to source yourself, cost estimates if you do it yourself vs. having a shop do it.

I had a transmisson shop do mine. They specialized in race transmissions, but had done normal AT to MT swaps in VWs, Hondas, and tons of classic cars. They showed me examples and outlined the entire process. I paid a bit more to have that shop do it, but i think it was a decent price for the peice of mind that my car was in good hands. In the end, i think i spent about $1000 in parts and another $1000 in labor. But others have done it my themselves for as little as $700 i think. I went the most expensive route getting the best parts, a lot of them new, i could find and finding the best shop i could find.

But again, do a search bc a few more people have done this swap besides me. And the ones that did it themselves can probably be of more help. But i still have the parts list i used to gather parts somewhere, PM me if you want me to send you a copy.
