If its anything like my talon, theres a fuse bypass you can do. It works already and thats how you can push start a manual. You just have to find the "clutch has to in" sensor's fuse and disable it. That of course may be different on the Celi. Ask the local auto store (not carquest or adv. auto but like speciality stores) that carry car alarms - they should know.

As for starting it in Montana, dunno - I live in Wisconsin.

yea there is a bypass....one thing is ur car has to be in neutral to start it. u can get it at best buy the model number is 555u. all it pretty much does is send a pulse telling the car that the clutch is down and it will start...simple

Okay, just speaking from experience, you need to be really careful if you do install an automatic starter into a manual transmission. I did it, and it worked very well until I started it right through my fience's garage door. frown.gif Now I gotta buy a garage door and have my front end painted. Looking on the bright side though, I took the opportunity to install an Invader body kit. I thought, "hell, I gotta have bodywork done anyway, why not?" biggrin.gif

Not if you always leave your car in neutral. You just have to think about what you're doing. I've had the remote start on mine for about 4 months and I've started it dozens of times with no trouble. I don't let other people drive my car (or I check it if they do) and I've never gotten into the habit of putting my car in gear when its parked. Thats what the parking brake is for.

As far as the clutch thing. I temporarily just put a piece of wire between the terminals of the switch harness. Eventually I'm going to make a bypass switch. The cruise control needs to think the clutch switch is there to work properly. Its just going to be bypassed unless i'm rolling down the highway and want cruise.....flip the bypass switch, hit the cruise button and there you go. Like somebody else mentioned you could totally use one of the additional pulse outputs on the alarm to do it, but thats too much trouble for me. I like not having the clutch switch at times. But then again, I'm used to being around race cars that are wired that way. Its really handy to not have to be sitting in the car to start it.

Would it be possible to make a switch that only allows it to be started in neutral ? ... I guess you would have to get a little smart with the placement, but one should think that with a few microswitches this should be possible ?

Real easy guys... get the 555u like playa said and leave it in neutral. I tell everyone to leave it in neutral. Never ever ever get into the habit of putting it into gear before you leave. There is a parking brake for manuals and thats why they call it the parking brake. The only reason I stress this is due to a turbo timer. People with those have to leave it in neutral, otherwise, you'll just have to wait the 1 minute while your car sits. You dont leave an auto in Drive when you leave do ya?

Sorry, i get a little flustered at the subject - i hate it when i hop into a MT and kill it as soon as it starts cause i thought it was in N

Amen Brotha. My compustar actually has a turbo timer built into it. Its pretty slick because i can cancel it at any time, but it automatically stays running until I hit the brake. No chance of leaving it in gear.

John, my car's cruise control(when I had it) worked fine with my clutch switch bypassed. Which switch did you tap into?

Also, I have a safety switch on my car, so that every time I plan on remote starting the car, I have to push this switch, which activates a loop on a SPDT relay and allows the car to remote start. Pushing the button reminds me to make sure the car is in neutral. wink.gif

And the only reason my car started into the cement wall of my garage was because when I put an interior panel back on, I accidentally put a screw through a wire for the safety switch, which grounded it out, in turn disabling the safety switch. It was pretty bad luck.

Sounds like it.

The cruise thing has me stumped. It hasn't worked since I put the alarm in (I think I had a plug off the cruise ecu in the passenger side doing some wiring and never put it back...haven't had time to check it. But when it did work it would cancel the cruise whenever you pushed the clutch all the way in. Maybe it only cancels on a pulse trigger and not a constant trigger. I dunno. Right now I have it bypassed at the clutch switch on the pedal. I disconnected the switch and shorted across the plug (what the switch does when its triggered). Did you figure out a better way? I hope so. I don't really like how I did it.

Yes, i have autostart in my celi, and it only took about 35 minutes to intstall myself...

35 min???A damn u must be super-installer or sum ish. ive been installing RS alarms for about a year and usually tka me around 3 HRs

so other peeps actually leave their car in gear hmmmm i nvr did that b4 oh well i guess ish betta to just leave it in neutral

soo pretty much i need a bypass huh
well im not the one that gonna install it but i just want to make sure that
the autostart will work cuz it can really get that cold in MI
