If you have the money go with a Viper they well know for their quality and the offer just about any option you could want. On the cheaper in but really good too are crimestopper alarms I have one in my bronco and i am satisfied.

I heard crimestoppers are pretty good too. They're all over Ebay and pretty inexpensive.

I had a Crimestopper keyless entry unit and liked it a lot. Now I have an Autopage RS-650 alarm that I love. smile.gif

Remember though, 90% of your alarm's effectiveness isn't the brand, but rather the installation. wink.gif

I love Vipers. You can upgrade them, get auto-start, pager, anti-hijack and all kind of sensors(glass breakage microphones, tilt, shock sensors, hood/trunk pins, perimeter radar.)
Hell they will warn away people if somebody walks too close to your car. They dont
even have to touch your car. Im doing an insall this weekend to my celi.

coomer is right it's more about the istallation... when i first got my celi i had a prestige alarm system which a lot of people told me sucks .. but one of my boys.. that was once into boosting cars.. couldn't get mine started.. so i say its all about the installation and were you have everthing places..

I personally like the black widow brand. I have a friend with one and it picks up anyone within a foot of the car. It's awsome. Plus you can add just about any extra features you would want.

Any alarm can be interfaced with a four-wire proximity sensor. If I had a 'vert, I'd add one on to my current setup. wink.gif

once again turn down your shock sensor.... its the vibration in the air that causes your shock sensor to go off in this occasion.

I have heard excellent things about the Excalibur k9. Can't speak from experience (I've got mongoose), but check out this link for more info (note all prices in $NZ). I'll be seriously looking at the K9 for my next car.
