For the 2nd time in the past 4 or so months i got rear ended. This time it was by some woman in her late 20's or so in some POS already wrecked corsica. I was leaving a red light w/ a corvette in front of me and a minivan in front of him. The van turned off and the vette put on his brakes pretty hard. I had to nail my brakes to keep from hitting him and then I got hit. @ 1st I thought i had hit the vette b/c i was really close. I was actually happy when i figured out that I had been hit and not him, but I was kinda pissed. The only damage was a couple of small scratches on my car, but the woman that hit me didnt have insurance so i wont get any $ out of the deal like I had hoped and I'm not going to turn it in on my insurance b/c my parents are getting it fixed for me @ the place where they work b/c their boss has a painter for the pull trucks he owns. This wasnt as bad as my 1st wreck, but I wish ppl would f****ing stop running over my car!

If it was just your rear bumper, why not get a kit-replacement? The Invader one doesn't look all that great, but it's better than a repaired stock one.. IMO at least. Could save some money too!

So having insurance isn't part of the state law in TN? I woulda taken her to small claims court.

so if insurance is required, and she dosnt have it, and damaged your car... your going to let her go her merry way!? dosnt seem like the right way to go.

The problem in TN is that insurance was just recently made a requirement(in the last 2 years). She should have gotten a ticket for no insurance, and then you can take her to court to cover the cost of repairs, but a lawyer costs more than the repair most of the time.

I dont think its worth the effort of taking her to court since its only a scratch and I dont have to pay for the repairs. It is illegal to drive w/out insurance, but since she did anyway all it would have done to call the cops is get her arrested or fined and I'd still probably have a scratched car and no extra $ in my pocket. I'm just glad it was nothing major.

#1 she shoulda offered to pay for the damage.
#2 if she doesnt offer, then you say, "i want an accident report." Then, cops come, and beause its illegal to drive without insurance, she gets either arrested, ticketed, fined, or all of the above.

You also sue for legal fees. She covers the cost of your repairs, and your lawyer. The end
