Usually i start at the back of the shifter boot, lift that up. And then you can lift the rest of the center console. It just snaps in and out.

Bulby? Ehhh.. mine doesn't have one, and I've never seen one with a bulb either. Hrmm, do you have the vent itself extracted and the wire (leading to the bulb) taken out? Most of the items in our dash (center piece at least) clip on the back and can be removed by taking your time and using fingernails to pry it loose (center air vents, hazard light button), and some have small screws (clock), so look for something like that. If you don't have the wire off yet, every wire I've seen either pulls right out, or unclips in some way. The first time I took off my center piece I had no problem removing anything (wire-wise), but the second time I completely forgot how to take off the white-tipped wire and almost ripped it out. Just mess around with the clips/plugs/screws, you'll figure it out. The worst you could do is break it. And in that case, you'd just have to go to a junkyard and find a replacement. Oh no. $10. Damn.

The bulb that i was talking about is the really small one on the driver's air vent. The one that tells you that the alarm is on.

that light thing is wierd. what i do to pop it out is just get a flat head screw driver and pry it out. be careful not to mess up your dash though. then it should have a plug or something connected to the light ( i would think).
