what does shaving mean?

Shaving basically means taking off and then making it look like you didn't take anything off, by filling in holes and/or painting. For example, I wanted my license plate holes shaved when my car was painted, so the body shop filled them with fiberglass and then painted the bumper.

well, its when you take a razor and cut all body hair down to the skin biggrin.gif jk. shaving is just a term used for filling something in and making it look smooth. when i said i shaved my tag, i meant that i had the recess where my tag was filled in and painted. now its just a flat smooth panel between the taillights. when shaving door handles you remove the handle, weld some sheet metal in there and fill it in with body filler like bondo. i just like the way cars look with shaved handles.

whats gay is hawaii has recon which requires reconstruction permit for certain car modifications. your car can get tagged if you don't have recon or you have the recon sticker but you have mods not on the list (recon approved). and down here in hawaii, shaved door handles are illegal. is it illegal there too? i heard its cuz of safety purposes. weird confused.gif
