I have fried the amp on my 97 Celica. I accidentally shorted the battery lead to ground. Toyota has quoted $800 CDN just for the part.

What are my chances of finding a 6th gen Celica at a wreckers? Anyone have one at a local wreckers?

Thanks,
Brian

I have the premium 8 speaker sound system so I am looking at an expensive aftermarket amp anyways. The stock amp had enough power for me and it means I don't have to rewire, find a place to mount an amp, worry about ground loops / RFI / etc...

Any suggestions on an aftermarket amp to use with the 8 stock speakers?

Thanks for the replies.

The premium 8 speaker system actually has 2 amps. One under the A/C controls and one under the driver's seat.
