It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

You MAY be ok, in ontario a car with a swapped engine can go to a dealer, in your case Toyota, have them inspect the car and determine that yes indeed the engine was not available in that model and your car will have a title of hotrod, which for emmisions is testd under the easily passible 1980's standards.

But then again probably only in Canada tongue.gif

welcome to illinois law rolleyes.gif

NO TINT ON YOUR CAR
NO ENGINE SWAP
NO LOUD STEREO

Oh, and if the cops can hear my stereo system, the car gets impounded, and i get a $500 fine. I don't even want to know what would happen if they caught me with a swap.

BTW, I wouldn't specifically count on bribery to be able to pass emissions, there is like a 90% chance you'll find a shop but that last lingering 10% could wind up screwing you come emissions time.

Yea, emmissions in Ga don't seem to be strictly enforced. I take my car to an emmissions testing facility in a shoping center where the local Tag office is, down the street from the DMV and in a place where there are always cops...

The testing consists of pulling my car up so my back wheels are on the spinners, sticking that test thing up the exhaust, waiting for 2 minutes, then they tell you that you passed and where to pay.

They never even turn the car on... they're just collecting free money, and doing a good job at it too.

Emmissions are a joke, at least in Metro Atlanta and City limits...

over here they are all over us about our emmisions. if i didnt work there there and my car wasnt leagal, they wouldnt pass it. clean air comes out once a month and checks on us. i also know that they have sent cars over that dont meet the standereds and if we dont fail them we get BIG fines. (one time we got a fine for $1000 bucks because we didnt have a fan on the car while it was being tested)
