Dropped boost guage, Help |

Well i dropped my boost gauag and i took it apat to fix it well i set it to 0 and tightened the bolt down and it goes about where my vaccum was which is about 21 o so well then when i tuned the ca off it didnt go all the way to zero. well i took it back apart set the pieace above zero and then my vaccum only went to like 18-19 but when i cut the car off it went to zero but if i tap it it goes above zero which of these is the correct reading?

if nothing is actually broken inside of it, you have to have it hooked up and turn the car on so it gets a reading, THEN calibrate it to zero.

If you've dropped it and bent the tube then its junked. You can make it work, but it will never be as accurate again. I did the same thing with mine.....yet another good reason to just get electric gages to begin with.
