My friend tweaked my car too much.
I raced against an old legend and lost.......
So I asked my friend, if there is a cheap way to make my car go faster. He said yes if i tweak it.
I asked him if he can do it for me and he said yes. The first time he tweaked my car redlined at 6500.
Second time he tweaked my car it went even faster. Third time, my seems to be even louder, and doesn't feel as fast as before, and when i start my car, the rpm is at 2500rpm and the engine sounds alot louder.
My friend said that the manifold or whatever doesn't open all the way, so i tightened the wires to make it open all the way when i step on the gas pedal.

My car is an AUTOMATIC......where should the rpm for a celica st be at when starting with the shift knob on parking????
My my rpm at 2500 when starting, is that bad for the car?????

here's some pictures and quick video.

-=RIGHT CLICK ON LINKS AND SAVE AS:::: OTHERWISE YOU WONT BE ABle to the see pics/ VIDEO CLIP

http://www.geocities.com/snvisionary/IM000215.AVI its about 225kbs so wait

Here's a picture of the rpm gauge for people with 56k : http://www.geocities.com/snvisionary/IM000208.JPG

Here's the picture of the throttle cable or what ever the string thingy:

What would be the normal rpm when starting on your automatic 6gen celica st???????/
Would this ruin my car's engine in anyway??????
Does this actually increase my cars speed?????

I am very worried about my car.

Thanks IN adVANCE

ok, he can't change your redline. that's an ECU controlled thing, and unless he installed a piggyback computer, it's still where it was. sounds like he also turned your idle up, which is easy to fix. 2500 is too high for your idle RPM.

no, none of this increases your speed, it will just wear your engine faster, b/c of the high idle, it's not good to keep advancing the idle like that. my advice, go to the dealer, or a garage, have them fix the idle setting, and don't let your friend touch your car again.

how can i fix this on my own???
Since my friend did something to it, do you think he will be able to put it back to normal???
How much would a shop charge me to do a simple thing like this professionally?

When he did it the second time, i felt more punch in the car when i launched it.

But the third time he did it, i didn't feel the punch any more.

download the 2ND picture again, it was the wrong picture.

well my friend calls it tweaking. I dont know what he means by that.
all i know is that he tightened the throttle cables, so it opened my throttle all the way.

uh have him put it back where it was the 2nd time or where it was at the begining of this experiment.

If he can't or won't do it. Beat him till he does.

Tweaking - Improve, (To make) Better,Change,...i don't know how to explain it.

hioctane, you should've consulted with me before letting your friend bsing your mind. Anyways, how exactly did he tweak the car? How fast did you feel?

I guess i've never told you about the legends...but if you losed to an older model legend than you'd defineatly get screwed by the newer ones which brings up another question, how bad did you lose to it by? WAs that car a stickshift?

Whoever your friend is, you better find out quick if he's only TESTING his theories on your car.

OH okay i wasn't reading your earlier post above igotta5S.

I don't know if i'm right on this but i think if the throttle is opened all the way than in the beginning of launch you'd feel a pack of it of course. But if it was to be normal, that would kick in @later gears...am i right? someone correct me.

How is does it feel or is it like when you give it a little bit of gas?

it was pretty fast, i felt more punch when i stepped on the gas pedal, the 2nd time he adjusted my cable wires. The 3rd time he adjusted my cables it was slower than before.

old legends are actually fast. His car redlines at 8000, he did something to it.
I lost by two car length. My launch was slow, i could of beat him.
