As much as I hate to admit it(Since I hate Sony Xplod car audio products ), I'm in the process of installing a fairly new Sony Xplod CD player in my car. I got the CD player for free in return for installing a gauge in my friend's Neon, and I have no manual for it. I spent the last hour searching through car audio forums, searching Google, and looking through Sony's absolutely useless website(One more reason why I hate Sony.) I simply cannot find the wire colors and what they do anywhere, and I'm wondering if someone can give them to me, so that I can get this CD player installed and get the car put back together.

hmm, the does it have a different wiring harness then most decks for some strange odd reason? All I have to Offer is this, and this is Typical for most decks.
I can see what I can pull up if you need more help. DTE -------------------- I am a thief.

the one that clipse posted is right. all the after market headunit has the same colors. but sony has a light blue that gay and useless. and dont connect ne orange(illumination). there for older style cars and radio. if u connect it, it can actually short your radio and even ur whole system

you can but its alot more professinal job if u just get a harness from ne best buy or curcuit city. there only like 17 bucks and it cuts the install time in 1/2 andull feel alot better that u didnt cut ne wires |

Thanks for the info guys. I got the deck installed. Unfortunately, it's Sony Xplod and it sucks...it has no subwoofer control, and the display turns off for a second whenever you press a button.
And Pali_playa...I agree that it's more professional to use a harness. When I didn't know anything 2.5 years ago I had my friend install my cd player, and he just cut off my factory harnesses and spliced into the wires. So today I went to a junkyard and cut a harness off of a wrecked Paseo, and then soldered that into my car. After I got it back to stock, I tested out my factory cd player, and it worked, so I installed the Sony deck. I think I'll go back to factory though until I can afford a new CD player...it's far better than the Sony Xplod deck that I got. I wish my Pioneer wouldn't have died...it survived a brutal seven or so years though. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Seems that CD/radio installs are FAQ's.
How about a sticky coomer with that excellent wiring diagram of Clipsetuner's. BTW: I have a Sony Xplod CD/radio deck and 444 amps and they're great. Well at least I'm happy with the way it works and the sound. 10 times better than the standard JVC one I had in there. |

I really want the Xplod with the TFT display...its single DIN sized but has the TFT display and looks awesome. They now have a newer version out which is even clearer and more amazing, but both are overpriced and im worried about quality.

there speakers and amps might be bad but that all has to do with how u use them. But there headunits i can say are execelent and have great quality.
