Ok, I am starting to gather parts for my turbo project and i am looking for the manifold. I know JGS makes one, but the price seems a little steep (360 + Shipping).. I was just wondering if anyone else knows any other options or knows anyone that does it for cheaper or any information on this subject. Thank you

Your options are:

1. Buy one from Lance (JGS)
2. Make your own

I would not suggest #2 unless you're really expereienced in welding and have some concept of manifold design.

beggars cant be choosers wink.gif jgs makes a great manifold but you could always buy an exhaust manifold gasket and take it somewhere to have one fabricated. depending on the place you take it, this could be way more expensive or in a few cases a little bit cheaper. just gotta check it out. i went with a custom job because i like the trick looking manifolds more than the plain ones from jgs. either way, as my good buddy Larry the Cable Guy says, " Get er' done! ".

Well, done one, dont want to do any more, rather pay some money then have 3 days full of work, and in the end still dont know if it was goo or bad..... Go with JGS tools manifold, and forget about all that hasle, cuz you will have enouth of it, then you start colecting parts and info for your 7a-fe

Check out my car, its a 7AFTE. I would sell you my turbo kit off of it with the maifold for 800.00. I'm not interested in it anymore and want to trash my engine and swap. i push 5-7 psi on it, the engine is just ****ed up right now and my trans slippin.

Because thats what its all about. rolleyes.gif Spending thousands of dollars on performance equipment so your car can 'look cool'.

If you really want performance, theres a lot more to manifold design than 'making it look cool'. A well designed manifold will look cool, not because it was supposed to look good, but because it was designed for performance. Looks are a byproduct.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting but your comment just sounded *really* rice.

i would agree totally with you about the rice comment if all were blind. but who doesnt want something to look nice and different rather than settle for something because thats "all they offer". lol, never been accused of sounding "rice" before thumbsdown.gif

Its cool if it looks good, but did you give any thought to how it performed? I just don't see the the point in spending a ton of money and effort on a turbo setup only to have it run like crap because the manifold was designed to 'look cool' instead of perform well. I guess its just my opinion. Its hard to ever get an engineer to consider form over function.......
