1) Can a 8" sub and a 12" sub be in the same box? (please try to give an idea of where to go to find box building for this idea if possible)

2) What can i use to get the paint of my interior dash pieces (the plastic inserts) without damaging the plastic?

well I would put two subs of any kind in a single box. You can use XIM clear primer and you should be ok I don't that will damage the plastic.

just have each speaker in a seperate (correctly sized) compartment and you'll be fine

Why do you need to get the paint off?

Then you shouldn't need to strip the paint. Just sand it and repaint it over top the original coat. Paint adheres to paint as long as it's been scuffed up enough.

Well do what you like. It's just that I do this type of thing for a living and I know to do that is just asking for trouble. By the time you find something strong enough to remove the paint you'll deform the plastic. It's very risky. And if you do a good job painting over the original color it won't chip. Is the original coat chiping or something? Cuz that could cause some probs.

as for the 8" and a 12" if there in a same enclosure space, the 12" will suck the s**t out of the 8" maybe even implode the cone. depending on how much power each has, its a bad idea. but there fine if in separate space, even if its one box, just must be split into 2 separate sections, with the right amout of volume for each sub.

answer for question 2 ... don't use any thing that will strip paint.. i did that on my ST and really F'd up the inserts... plastic doesn't like checmicals that strip paint.. just do want everyone say.. sand down a little and repaint.. just put a black base coat first.. then paint then clear coat.. you shouldn't have any problems with chipping paint..

answer to 1st question... just like mikew04 said.. do like those hose speakers that come with the 18 inch and 12 inch sups on them... just have the bigger sup just a little lower then the smaller one...
