If so how does the sound compare to having it in the trunk? Also if its better on the door (maybe so you dont have big ass woofers in your trunk) How do you setup the system to where your Speakers dont get taking over by the subs... Since in you put a sub there, It will vibrate your chair alot. Being so close to the seats is why i ask these silly Questions ![]() p.s. Yes i was bored when i did this post.... ... if you were so bored, you should have probably looked in the how to section, or done a search.

I had 8's in my doors. You don't really feel alot. There is more bass, but the doors rattle quite a bit. my car is sound deadened and it really didn't help the rattle much. But if you put the time in you could make the rattle stop.

You won't get as much output as being in the rear, but it will sound better. Waste of time IMO. And mounting depth is not your friend.
Also, what about your mid range??? You need some mids up front or your sound stage will suffer...... This post has been edited by CelicaDEATHdie: May 22, 2004 - 5:32 PM |

I was thinking of putting 8"s in the door but I decided against beccause it was going to cost more than it was worth. Also there aren't many 8" free air subs on the market and since I am not a fan of kicker at all I decided to put my components in the doors. This was a much better plan.

My car came with component speakers and an 8" sub in each door. When I bought my car the subs were really thrashed, so I replaced them with Crunch subs but they were still really weak. Eventually I got a 12" sub along with an amp and it was soooo much better.
The reason a sub in the door isn't as good is because it doesn't really have anything to "push" off of, like one in the trunk would since it's in a box. And if you don't already have the type of door that holds the 3 speakers, it's even more not worth it. |
