I installed my TRD Quickshifter today. I have to say, I do not notice that much difference from my stock shifter but I only took the car for a short ride tonight. As of right now, I would say the change in throws was marginal. I will post an update after I drive with it for a couple days. I am hoping that it will make a bigger difference when the 3sgte goes in next month biggrin.gif

Thanks to Coomer for the how to article. It was very easy with the instructions and I am a novice at working on my car. One final point. Coom's instructions indicate that you should cut the connecting piece of plastic between the knee panels. This piece sits under the shift boot bracket so it is not noticable. Some of the comments to his write up say DO NOT cut that piece. I tried for a very long time to take the old shifter out without cutting that piece and found it impossible. So, I cut it. I put everything back together and not only is it the same as far as looks go, but its also just as strong from the top. That is, the piece that was cut provides no noticable support so cutting it had no ill side effects.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Drove my car 50 miles today with the quickshifter and I have to say I do like it. It grew on me during some spirited driving. The best thing about is the solid feel when shifting. There is virtually no play like my stock shifter. The shift knob is also very nice. I still find that the throws are only marginally shorter. Do others who have installed the kit feel the same way?

It's nice isn't it biggrin.gif

Changing is heaps better with the shifter, same with you at first it didn't seem to make much difference, but after a while of driving it and with my new clutch it's nice. I can slam up a gear when accelerating as fast as I can which is awesome.
