I would just like to point out that he dosent know what hes talking about... for the record...

JVC makes a really good head unit. I have the 3100 and have had no problems with it.
Its really a great head unit. However my sony did suck. I would never buy one of the new keenwoods, there to cheap looking....

You don't have to be a ass because that is my opinion. I have owned pioneers, blaupunkts, and Alpines. I have had two friend that had JVC head units and compared to mine well let me stay there is was difference. The only reason to get a JVC head unit is just have something in your car until you get an Alpine. lol. but really man everyone that I have known to have one has been totally unsatisfied with it. I am speaking from experience so if you don't like tough cookies. Now let me look on the positive side I have met someone that like JVC and I thought hell would freeze over first.lol. I am spoiled on car audio because the sound from an Alpine HU is second to none. You buy what you like, you don't because someone else likes it.

Now lets play nice.

I have a panasonic head unit for sale. It is VERY nice. 45x4. Blue face. The only reason I am replacing it is because I am going to red instrument panel. Please let me know if you would like pics. I would sell it for $100 shipped.

Thats a good price panisonic has one of best looks with good sound on top of that.

I am out

Well actually celimanST is right... JVC is in the "BAD BRANDS" of Headunits. If you ask real sound competition enthusiasts and do searches on audio forums like caraudio.com...they will tell you to stay away from JVC. Even a cheap alpine or eclipse would be better off. Basically JVC is over rated and over priced.

Kenwoods are supposedly pretty good except for the lower voltage preouts on their lower quality headunits, but at the higher end priced at retail from 250+ is really good.

Panasonic is not the best but it is a bang for the buck.

On true Competion SQ and just plain quality I would say its between Alpine and Eclipse. If you stuck between those two and have the money to buy them, you are just going to go crazy figuring out which one to buy. Especially the Eclipse E-Commander..hehe that thing is just amazing.

see I know something

I am also hearing good things about Swiss audio but I haven't met anyone that has any of their stuff though.

I could be wrong but I would like to find out.

you bash pioneer and praise kenwood?

BAHHAHAHAHHAHA..

anyway, pioneer owns, and so does ikesound, every one of my friends orders from there, they are fast, reliable and very nice to work with.

did I mention pioneer just broke the SPL world record?

Yeah, but we are talking about headunits here. Pioneer h/u and kenwood aren't that great. They may look good and seem to have good features, but have crappy preouts and quality wise. can't compete with alpine or eclipse.

Pioneer broke the SPL record, but a world record can not decide a H/U.

Ikesound is great to buy from though.

pioneer has great head units..

a 200 dollar pioneer head unit vs a 200 dollar alpine head unit will steer you towards near identical results rolleyes.gif

pioneer = walmart.... that should tellu something , while ur at it u could go and buy those nice 3000 wat subs at walmart for 35 dollars.

kenwoods really arent that bad they may look cheap and feel cheap but they have decent sound quality for the price.

as with the pioneer i have a friend who had one, after a few months it would start skipping whenever he hit a slightly bumpy road.

If it's decent sound you're after, I agree that all Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood are ok. But, if you want that little something in sound quality I'd go with any of these WITHOUT a build-in amp. Buy instead some cheap 4 or 5 channel amp with 1000 W. The sound will be much better + you can play a little louder! biggrin.gif

You may just want to check the install that was done on that skipping unit.

I have the pioneer DEH and I love it. I'm no audio expert, but I'm really happy with the sound. Also has great options on it to customize the sound your trying to get. Includes a microphone to hook up and let the cd player read the actual sound you would hear from your seat and optimize it for what your putting out. Nice and smooth motion when the face comes down for a cd. Not a bad price either. Installed for over a year now, no problems. Definately recommend.

your average auto parts store should carry a metra wiring harness. You can go your local audio shop and they will carry an install kit that has the pocket.
