Well as we know on the 96+ the distibuter is in a set position! Has and one tried dilling the hole out to advance o retad the timing? Will it work?

I think the ecu will bring the timing back into spec even if you manage to do that.

i believe the distibuter runs strait off the cams so the ECU cant do anything to change it back if you do retard it. when you pull it out to drill out the hole then make sure you mark its origanal position so that if it doesnt run good with the retarded timing you can change it back.
