Seems like alot of them say 12psi boost is the max "safe" amount of boost. Which is interesting because I've always been told 15psi. Good little bit of info to know i guess.

Well, if you think about it, TOYOTA made a reason to put the boost cut at 12 psi.

Kinda makes you want to go check your oil level doesn't it? =) These people learned the hard way, just like me. I didn't check my oil on my 5sfe after it was 3,500 miles since the last oil change. For some reason the 5s didn't like nasty oil so it found a way to get rid of it without me knowing. Rod bearing started going out. Luckily I stopped the car the instant I heard a noise so nothing too major happened. It just knocks between 2k and 3k rpm...anything over or under that and it doesnt make a noise. But I dont drive it anymore as I want to see exactly what that little bit of knocking did to my rod bearing. I should hopefully find out within a few weeks cause the 5s is getting replaced with a 3s.

Haha I blew an old landcruiser 4x4 when I was 16 from no oil, and I have religiously checked my oil & battery ever since.

I don't like that link. That web page is just depressing. All those 3s' gone to waste frown.gif

I've blown up many engines... I mean... many. 2 13B rotaries (last serious racecar), 2 4AGEs (one bigport one smallport, one in an AE86 one in an AE92), 1 7AFE (race-prepped in my previous Celica which is now a little ball of steel) , 1 3SFE (Camry parts car at our shop), 1 5SFE (my cousin's Camry before swap), 1 3SGE (bad head gasket problems on these 1 gens w/ TVIS), 1 22R (my dad's beat-up truck), 1 22RE (my 4Runner before the turbo), 1 22RTE (my 4Runner with the turbo), 1 4AC (my dad's beat-up rolla), 1 D16 (my green EK hatch), and 1 B18 (my cousin's Teg). Working on cars and racing them has its kicks. ;P

Thats a good achievement but you sound like you are proud kwanz. ?? biggrin.gif

The 13B's are nice.. An old friend of mine had a couple of old Rx7's with 13b's. He also had a 7 with a 20B turbo monster ported.... that thing was mad. Also a friend has a AE86 with exhaust/intake/mild internals & new ecu/management system. Those little things fly biggrin.gif

I'm proud of every other engine aside from the 13Bs. Both were relatively recent rebuilds and both had seals that failed. I though long about keeping the FC and doing a 3 rotor or even 4 rotor build... but then I started racing my Celica and noticed my solo times weren't all that different between the two... so I just concentrated on my race Celica at the time (not this current one)... unfortunately, the Celica's motor, after it's modifications became an intereference motor and blew up after a a couple of combined mishaps. Engines themselves, are pretty tough when taken care of...
