I wanted to chrome some of my engine parts. I read the how-to but it doesn't say what kinf sander to use. Do you have to hand sand all it? Or do you use a power sander? I know the wet sanding has to be done by hand but what about the rest?

i bet that you can use a power sander to start, but finish by hand. and yeah wet sand by hand. just use a high number paper (like 200ish) if you use a power sander, so you dont take to much off to fast. but you might want other opinions too, thats just what i would do.

If your chroming you can do about a 120 to start you off but your gonna want to go to a very fine grit, I would go to 800-1000, but thats me you might be fine just doing a 400.

But it is okay to use a paper sander for sure? I don't want to take to much metal off but I do want it to really shine.
