I got in an accident today, somebody side swiped me goin about 50mph. The damage is repairable but for some reason after i pulled over and shut my car off, when i went back in the car to start it it wouldnt start. There is no power in the car, no lights, no radio, and the engine wont crank to start over. I tried jumping the battery and putting another battery in but it wont work. THe car was hit on the passenger side fender? Does anybody know what could be wrong with it? Thanks,
Mark

I don't know if this could be it.. but you may want to check if your little security disk thingy (I'm not sure what it's called) fell out.. or was knocked out. If you don't know what I'm talking about.. it's located a little below the steering wheel under the dash. I'm not sure if all celica's have this?
However, when it is knocked out.. it prevents the car from being started.

I think that there is a ground for the battery or something on that side, try linking up a new wire from the (-) battery terminal to the chassie. if not, you probibly tore a wire coming from the (+) or something.

really sorry to hear that though, glad that no one is hurt and its fixable.

id suggest taking off the pass side fender and looking for severed wires

hmm, yeah i would wait for insurance.

jezz, werid that there is no power at all, that makes not sence. do you have subwoofers/amp in the back, if so do they get power, they should have there owen wire to the battery, just need to trip the power on/off wire from the deck to get them on.

look up on the net about this, some cars have sensors that can shut off all the power to it, for saftey or whatever, i dont know if our cars do, but that is a posibiblity, call a toyota mechanic or a dealer and ask him/her. maybe its just that your car wont let you turn it on.

edit: at this point, if nothing works, i would try and blow a fues. try putting the battery (-) wire on the positive, and the (+) on the negative, that would blow a big fuse under the hood. then you can atleast see if the car is getting any power. (I dont recomend doing this unless its a last resort, and i cant say that it will not hurt the car, but that is what i did when i have truble with my civic, just to see if it had any power, and it did, and just blew the fuse)

did you check the wires on the starter motor? sometimes those can fall out and I dont think the car would work without the postive battery cable hooked up.... no?
