I want to put the JDM style side markers on and I wanted to know where to get some. I don't want to use the orange ones, what other options do I have - ebay, autozone ?
thanks -------------------- |

John has them on his car. He wrote up a how-to article on how to install them as well.
Also, most of the cars from overseas have them from the factory. If you do a search in the members' rides section for cars from Europe, Japan, Cyprus, etc., you should find many more photos of them. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

I have seen the how-to and many photos which is why I want to do it. My question is were to get them and which ones are the ideal to install ( ideal= the less cutting of my fender the better ) The actual JDM ones seem deeper than universial ones, hence JDM ones require a pretty big hole to be flush with the fender.
so, who has installed some and which ones did you use ? thanks -------------------- |

Yeah ebay is going to be ur best bet, and even then i've never seen them on there.
Go to GT4oc.com...its a UK GT4 site, but maybe u can find someone whose selling them, and is willing to ship overseas. That also goes to anyone else looking for ST205 parts, www.GT4oc.com -------------------- |

I changed my stock jdm ones with clear ones from AutoArt.
They just clipped straight in, although removing the existing ones required quite a lot of force (so much so that I broke one of them in the process). However as UK cars are supplied with side-markers as standard I did not have to cut any holes. |

No, they are designed to replace existing orange repeaters. I don't know if anyone supplies a complete ket, however you should be able to pick up some standard sockets from a dealer. You may need to work on the moulding to get them to fit into the side marker though.

mikeh117, I think you can confirm this. The spot on the fender is indented to fit the stock ones, right ? This is how it is on my MKIV Jetta. To put the actual JDM ones on a USDM celica you would need to do a good amount of cutting because of the nonindention. I'm sure if any of us were to do this we would like to do the least amount of cutting.

these might be best
these are wider in the back , hence bigger hole, more cutting, ect.. This post has been edited by Batman722: Jun 10, 2004 - 4:29 PM -------------------- |

if u check the how to the cutting isn't that bad, u can just tape off area and go at it with a dremel.

You're right batman, the standard side repeates will require quite a big hole.
I don't have any US currency for scale but here is the stock one that I took off my car next to a Pound coin: The new one I fitted has exactly the same fitting. |
