So I'm driving home from the gym today and I see this spot that looks like it is just a little dip in the road so I think nothing of it at first. But when I get about 15 ft from it I realize that it is a frickin meteor crator! So my first thought is swerve no luck car next to me, so I try to slow down but no way that is happening, BAM BAM big gigantic dent in my rim. OMG I am so pissed off, so now I have to buy a new rim!

I've heard that if you damage something on your car by hitting a pothole that the city is responsible for it, but I doubt it. Gonna try and call monday about it. I'm thinking it would be cheaper to get a new rim because I found one for $119+shipping instead of getting it repaired. I am so mad right now! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Who would I contact to get them to pay for it? My local city or the metro city? I live in J-town but it is a small city inside of Louisville. I was thinking of calling my mayors office monday. As long as I get the money, I am ordering a new rim monday, and I will just keep the receipt so they pay for it.

PS: Thx for the good news adason and hatch I feel better now.

rjb..a few things. first sorry about your rim.

second your car is really bad ass. i love the honda paint, and I LOVE that Hiro lip, i feel bad for not jumping all over that, it looks slick. Also, can you get closer pics of your front turn signals? They look real nice? what are they?

Thanks akimbo. They are 93 turns and I'm thinking of doing a how to on how to convert them to fit the 94-95's. Its pretty simple just redrill the screw hole at an angle to the outside corner of the light on the 93 turns, then cut the brackets off the 93 turns, cuz they won't fit. Then cut off the brackes off your old turns and epoxy them on to the 93 turns.

Sorry, J-town is short for Jeffersontown.

I remember this girl I used to know dented her rim on a pot hole and messed up her car too, and I pretty sure she said that she got her stuff paid for by the city.

Louisville city district would not pay for my bent rim and busted supension, around 2 years ago. Maybe it's changed, hopefully.

regarding this install what did you do to make up the gap since the 93 turns are a bit shorter than the 94-95...i have them and was gonna glass in the gap unless you have somethin easier:)

Fitment is not to bad, there are some spots that need to be glassed.

The turns I didn't do anything to fill in the gap. Since they are now indented like the headlights they pretty much fill up all the space, and what little they don't fill up you can't tell unless you are real close to them.

Great coincidense, I had this kind of incident with my GT4. Result, 1 bent rim, crack on pillow ball and broken ball joint on the strut suspension. And i was thinking of wrting a letter to the city and ask for money for the repairs. Now that i see this i will definately do it.

Well the city won't pay for it!

The lady said that I should call the state, and gave me the number to call for a claims form. So I just got off the phone with them and they are sending me a form to fill out and mail back in. She wasn't sure what kind of proof I needed because the legal dept had gone home already, but I think I am going to call back tommorow, she said I needed an estimate probably, and pictures would help too. I have pictures already.
