heres a tip for all u auto drivers yes i knwo it sux we have auto but umm i been doing something that has improved my shifting a ili bit start off either at L1 or L2 and steop on the gas if u started out at L1 when u get to about 20-22 MPH shift to L2 if u are at L2 shift to D at 40-45. this will help u accelerate a lil faster. just make sure u dont take it too far beyond the limits i just stated

He has the wrong speeds listed anyway

in an auto, shift the same as a manual- at 5500. This puts you at 30-35 mph in 1 (40 is the highest speed you should downshift to), 2nd at 65 or so (although 2nd gear can be engaged at 80 or so).

(and yes, the manual gears and speeds differ a lot)

Its what I got when I pushed it in D without the subs or anything else in the car. Furthermore, I'm a vert, so on a lighter GT hatchback, you could probably hit 40

it's easy to re-wire the OD to anywhere you want it. The Auto in celicas works rather well. there's no need to upshift. It'll do it properly on it's own. Downshifting is a new ball game though. wink.gif
