Got home today with my brand spanking new Sound System that costed me 2,300$.

Driving home, playing some Linkin Park: Reanimation in the CD player, bass hits real (like realllllll hard) hard (its already been playing for an hour), and the speakers and subs go completely dead. Nothing works except the head unit. Fuse blew or wire in the back of the head fell out? Any other suggestions. I'm hoping its one of those 2, if anyone else knows what it could be, please come forward before I stab someone in anger and frustration.

the same thing happened to me, check your inline fuse under your hood, you may need to get a better wattage one, i was blowing 40watt ones all the time, then i moved to a 60 and it hasnt gone since.

Yeah i'de have to agree, dont stop playing linkin park. Reanimation is like the perfect car music, especially if you have the bass to make it loud.

Actually, Linkin Park is sweet ****, yes. The reason why all my **** went, was because of the power fuse in the engine bay. The idiots put a 30w Fuse in there, and it blew. When I went over first thing this morning, my buddy was working (the one who told me to get the specific ****, but was off during the day I got it installed) got pissed at the people for putting a 30w Fuse in, so he opened me a brand new pack of 80w Fuses and put them in, and it does wonders now. I can let the bass hit hard as hell and it takes it and likes it.

Oh, and my Celica doesn't rattle at all, except for the license plate which I am dynomatting now. Again, go hatchbacks!

about the license plates rattling tell me if that works cuz I have tried nearly everything to get rid of that. I have 2 jl audio w7's and 2 jl audio 1000/1 class d mono sub amps. I can not get rid of the rattle

I now understand that I will never lose the rattle in my trunk. I look at it like this: My stuff hits so hard it makes my car rattle! So I try to feel good about it. smile.gif

I triple layered the back of the License plater, and filled the gaps at the bottom in Dynomat, and it seemed to have worked pretty well.

On a more pissed off note, my Alternator is toasted. I'm running 12v if that on the battery, this morning my car wouldn't start, they told me with this alternator, i'll be lucky if it starts tomorrow (brand new battery today too).

get a 100 amp altenator. I had that same problem. It works wonders, no dimming headlights or cd player display or anything

Also look into a capacitor if your lights dim when it hits. It will work wonders, but make sure you get a quality brand. The cheap ones dont do sh*t.

Hey...when I'm sitting in neutral, and I hit the gas, my headlights get brighter, then dim when the revs go back down...should I get a better alternator? Or is that like, normal?

I already had a Capacitor, thats what was draining the battery so fast so the alternator couldn't recharge it. I got a new stock Alternator, but I still think its lagging behind on recharge, or maybe its just because its cold outside, but people told me the Battery and Alternator in my car were probably already shot due to them being the original, and my car being 6yrs old, its the average life for them. Either way it runs fine now, but I might look into getting a bigger Alternator. Any ideas where I can find one?

What kinda of stereo system do you have? More than likely you can get a cap or a bigger battery will do the trick. But I got rid of my subs and amp and mine still do that to a certain extent. And I just got a new battery.
