ok...i was driving....and driving.... then all of a sudden my i tried to pop my gear into 2nd.....sigh..it wouldn't go it!!!! so i had to drive home...skipping 2nd gear... what's wrong with it?.. sigh* the rumors true...the gt tranny sucks

check your transaxle mounts. that positioning is critical for smooth shifting. try this test: while driving, put pressure on the shifter (as in forward). let off the accelerator and feel for movement in the tranny. bet it's loose. new mounts will give you a new lease on life! good luck.

my tranny moves when i push on it forwards and let off accelerator and back on it. my tranny also has a grinding or sshhh sound to it when i let off gas when in gear, it stops when in neutral or clutch is in. could it be same thing, the mounts??

one thing to check first, Iw ould say take apart your console, you could have something in the way. .. I had the same problem . It didnt let me not put in gear, but .. It seamed to be harder .. Also your syncs could be screwed up.
