shops around here wanted 3-400 for spring install. I did it with a friend in about 3 hours instead. i suggest not going through a shop, as it is an easy install

With auto work, figure about three times what people say it takes. I find Murphy's Law tends to apply. If you want to do a day of it, make sure you don't need your car for three. And you definitely need a friend to drive to the store and get the parts you find have gone to hell and didn't intend to replace.
And if it's a Toyota only part... you are definitely spending and waiting. But it's way cooler than having a shop do it. -------------------- ![]() |

Man, really like every one else says, Its easy, as long as your carfull about the rear sway bar links you should be able to get it done with in a few hours.. Also go to autozone, you can rent a compresor there for free.. its like 45 bucks.. but you get your money back when you return it.. dont waste your monrey for somthing simple./.. Also you gotta start somewhere when working on cars.

it's easy to do, really. yes i do this regularly at work, we charge $35 ea strut. i did mine in about an hour. you need a strut compressor to collapse the spring a bit. then unbolt the mount from the piston. but be careful when releasing the spring, i've known guys that have gotten a face full of spring. ouch.
