The stock speaker is 6.5, I took a piece of fiberglass tray and made an adapter out of that. The ring may be 8" but the actual speaker size is 6.5

Looks like everything has been clarified already, so why is this thread still alive? Apparently the non-electric doors and windows have a slot that fits 6.5īs fine, and power windows & doors do not. Nobody cares what size the cone is, they want to know what size the speaker mount is. The fact that the tiny peice of crap that they placed in the center of a metal plate turned out to be 6.x inches doesnīt matter.

On a separate note, those focal 8īs look pretty interesting... iīll have to look into those.

Yeah, I confirmed that my non-power doors will not fit 8" speakers, without massive cutting of the metal. My 6.5" Pioneer REV speakers fit perfectly, although I did have to cut the mounting plastic and the metal door panel to get the integrated crossover to fit.

I'm not sure how I like them yet. They're running off a very poor quality Sony Xplod head unit(long story...it was a free replacement when my old pioneer died) right now, and I have no low end in my car, as everything's out while I'm working on my new enclosure, amp rack, and battery relocation. They'll be running off of a Profile CL200 amp for now once I mount the amp, and run new power wires and new RCAs, getting 65 watts a piece, so I think they'll sound pretty good. smile.gif

Oh yeah, I'll be using a new Pioneer for my head unit too...the DEH-760MP. Or I might go with a CDA-9813 from Alpine...not sure yet. wink.gif

to put my 8" midbass speakers in i had to do a little cutting. Didnt take much but you do have to modify the existing speaker mount alittle. I have the 8spkr setup in my car

Hey Coom,

I know the Alpine unit is better, but I really don't need a lot of the features, such as time stage adjustment and stuff...I'm not going to have a competition system or anything...just a nice, light, attractive setup that'll get loud and have some great SQ. smile.gif

And the Pioneer has the steering wheel remote, and the better looking display in my opinion. smile.gif

Oh yeah, it's quite a bit cheaper too. Brand new it's cheaper than a good used CDA-9813. wink.gif

What he said...

I have a pioneer deh-p740mp, Itīs great. u are looking at a newer model, probably better. Pio is great for the money, especially on ebay biggrin.gif, but i would not recommend their subs... The rev series is outstanding for the money, and the deck is pretty damn good too. I agree, the alpine is better quality... but I think too many people hate on pioneer because of how mainstream it is.
