well, it depends on the setup and the amount of tuning and how many and what kind of miles the engine has
but because its on the higher side of CR's, i dont think any higher than 10psi would be good. and even at 10psi im sure it would shorten the life span a good amount depending on how it is driven. -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Guys at celica.net are SUPPOSIDELY running at 13 on stock internals. I wouldn't trust higher than 8.

its not if you can rund 10 or 14 or 25psi. the question is how long will the motor will last.
i honestly think that 5-7psi should be the max and even then its still trial and error. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

i been running 10 for 3 months now and it was 5-8 before that and i elieve 10 is safe with the rght mods such as injectors, fmu/safc/fuel pressure regulator and 2 bar map!

.. and a fuel pump. your car will explode if you run over 12 for very long on stock internals.

ask nuke with the right mods 15 psi everyonce in a while isnt going to hurt.....Im not sure about the older celicas but my 99 has a knock sensor and that will tell you when your running lean but i would say 15 is ass high as would go on stock internals....................

i wouldn't go above 6psi w/out an i/c, and w/ one w/ stock internals, i'd stay around 9-10psi.

15psi is hella high and even I wouldn't do much more than that when I get my car back on the road. I think Im going to call it quits at about that or so. 10psi fpr daily driving tho.

y do you say after 8 psi the ct26 wont see much more gains. theres a huge diff when i have my ct26 at 8 vs 15. (not saying u should go that high just saying the ct26 doesnt die at 8psi)
o and i have a 3s not a 5s |

Four, go get it dyno'd. This isn't some magical mystical claim, it's a bitching point of every gt4, alltrac, mr2, supra with ct26 etc etc etc etc. After 8 psi, the ct26 is no longer in it's prime efficiency range (if you can find one, take a look at it's graph). One might see a 15 hp gain going from 7-8 psi, but then only a 13 hp gain from 8-9.. then only a 12 hp gain from 9-10. You get the idea. Of course there's a difference between the 8 psi and 15 psi, and of course you're going to see gains; but compared to a different turbo thats made to handle above 8 psi (like a T3 or T4), they're way below standard.

Uhm, no, thats not true at all- not when you could just buy another turbo for the same amoutn of money and get BETTER gains.
The CT26 has POOR gains. Not GOOD gains, POOR gains past 8 psi on a 3sgte, and possibly around 7 on a 5sfte |

any gains are good and will be felt, and i doubt rasing the boost 1psi higher than stock on a ct26 will bring 15 more hp with out a lot of other mods
i think after 15psi is where the ct26 is useless a ct26 works better on a 3s than a 5s due to the difference in displacement -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

well imo 8 hp is better than 7. 160 is better than 159. 200 is better than 199 you get the point. and for those that cant afford a nice new turbo, another couple psi will do until the money for a new turbo is available. im not saying they are great gains but they are better than no gains |
