My airbags are deployed, and popular opinion from my friends is that I should not replace them, but then I thought that If I didnt replace them, then I would be wasting the space underneath the passenger airbag, there has to be something useful to do with it. any suggestions?

I'd keep a 6 pack of beer in there. Route your A/c in there to get it cold

i just replaced my airbags...omg they were a biznatch to install!!! if ur not gonna put them back in make a monitor in a fiberglass thing then put hinges on it so it can go back down in and look stock! people will be less likely to steal it if they dont know its there! lol just go to the toyota dealership and get a new door(there like 20 bucks) and mold it to the back of the tv mount.

I am going to pull my passanger side air bag out and put a LCD in (7.2) and put DVD player under the passanger side seat. I have also moved my CD player to the vent spot, and will be putting a 7.2 LCD where the old spot of the sterio.

I don't get why you would take out your airbag if it works? I mean lets say you get in a head on collision and you have a passenger you care about, wouldn't you want her to be safe?

Yeah, honestly. Thats like removing your steering wheel to put a sports one on while the airbag still works. It's not worth it

might want to read that again, they arent going to work again, although now Im still wondering if I should replace them or not because I want to keep the better insurance rate the airbags get me, and If I dont tell the insurance company, they will think it has functiional bags in it, and I have better insurance rate, but then I wonder what happens if I get in an accident, can they say Im not covered because I was supposed to have airbags? oh, and about replacing the passenger airbag door, you dont really have to after the airbag deploys, there are two white clips that hold the front on, they break when the bag deploys, so if you replace those then its all good. |

Yup, anything like that, they'll use it as an excuse to screw you over. And I dont think anyone was asking you to reuse the airbags? just possibly get them replaced. Unless you can say, with all certainty, that you had no IDEA the airbags were deployed when you got the car, they might be mean enough to just deny you coverage- ESPECIALLY medical coverage... and those are the big bills. |

Would a passenger airbag even help at all if the passenger had their seatbelt on? I am thinking of just getting a cover for my passenger one becasue it is deployed. Any of you guys want to sell yours that are planning on doing things?

a pair of airbags for our celicas cost $800 - $1000. so i wouldnt replace em... and if the insurance is paying for it... get a upholstry guy to redo the airbags so it looks original... keep the money.

actually ive taken out many airbags for cars and ive blown up a few outside a car myself... believe me those things kill more than they save... the sound of it alone will make my gf pee herself and the force is so high, when i blew up the airbags it flew up 8feet in the air... just matters on the person personally
