Well I started out by posting here like 9 months ago about what to do about axles for this tranny swap and I bought the parts for the MR-2/Alltrac hybird axles

Then to get the engine mounts to fit correctly I ordered the 3 brackets that bolt to the tranny for the engine mounts from Fensport in europe from a ST205.

part numbers

front-12311-74160
rear-12321-74310
driver-12325-74230

and i also got the one to the block

passenger-12315-74130

Then to get proper fitment I ordered throu TRD the ST205 engine mounts, all 4 of them. Which took 11 weeks to get.

Then I did some research to find that the ST205 and the US ST204 have the same shift cables and the same bracket that bolts to the tranny for the shift calbes. So I took my stock bracket and bolted it to the Solara tranny and it fits perfect.

The only problem I ran into is the rear mount with the St205 stuff moves it to the driver side a little which now the factory bolt doesn't fit so i had to go to the hardware store and buy a shorter bolt to fit in between the bracket and the crossmember where the power steering rack is. That cross member is different on a ST205 but the one that goes from the front of the car to the rear is the same on a ST204 and a St205.

And this is what it looks like installed

Yep 3SGTE...with tubular intake and exhaust manifolds..Those are freakin nice....I heard the tubular intake manifold can increase up to 100hp to the crank.

3 inch dp, huge TB, and don't know what kind of turbo...

rm2932 CAN I have it?

RM, is your car operational yet? I have read other posts of people who have done the solara tranny swap who say the gears are very tall for the 3sgte and torque response suffers. What was your experience? Also, did you add an aftermarket LSD?

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Yes, I have a custom race Spec ATS diff. The car is not running yet. i still have to finish up my fuel lines, IC piping and some other small things in my spare time. I hope it will run in about 2 to 3 weeks.

As for the gearing the Solara tranny (E153) and the stock GT tranny (S54) have very similar gearing. I had figured it out that 1st, 2nd and 3rd should be all about within 1 to 2 mph of the other tranny at redline. 4th and 5th are slightly taller but not by much at all. I think I firgured at 9000 rpm in 3rd gear the Solara tranny about 115 MPH and the stock S54 would have been at 112.5.

And for torque response I do have a 2.2 liter since I stroked the 3S with a 5S crank so the motor before felt really good.

I only have the 5S-FE crank in a 3S-GTE engine.

And the compression ratio is 8.4 to 1

hey guys I was wrong on something. The shift cable from a US GT celica and a ST205 are different part numbers. The ST202 and a ST205 are the same. So I had to make a collar to get my shift cables to work for time being but I am ordering ST205 shift cables. Just wanted to post that.

I just primed my oil system and am waiting for my gear lube from ATS to start the car.

The 5s crank is forged if I recall....Shouldn't be prone to crankwalk or any of those DSM problems...

This has to be one of the most badass 3sgte's i've seen. Good work!
