I got my HKS muffler on today. My shop offer to take off the resinator for free too, telling me it'd sound better. What a horrible idea. I sound like a honda up-top now. So get this. From the pre-cat in the header back, I have stock 2" piping to my testpipe (where the res was) which is 2.5", back to 2" for the bend, then from axel back, 2.5" to my striaght thro muffler.

So who on here is not running a resinator? What's a good aftermarket res? Should I be running full 2.5 all the way back?

well, i have no resonator and if i believe i strongly urged people in another post to not remove the resonator...but i'm not sure on aftermarket resonators but yes 2.5" the whole way is a much better idea cause the flow of air will be much smoother(p.s. stock pipe is 1.75")

Your exhaust shop should be able to hook u up with one if they are any good. I went 2.25 the whole way and the res really got rid of growling/burbling.
