They use the 3sgte tranny? Well maybe they're talking about an mr2 tranny

It wouldn't matter if you went with the font clip or motor set. They're going to keep all extra clip parts (you most likely wouldnt want anyways. Well, maybe, afterall it is jdm, and jdm parts are better then midgets in sacks) most likely. And front clip or not, you've payed for a swap, and it'll get done. If it doesn't bitch or sue

St folk, I THINK you guys would needs a whole need tranny. Cuz 3s dont bolt up to ur tranny, do they? The tranny that will come with it is an AWD tranny, so none of us really have use for that.

This looks like a great deal. I start to price this out and I think they're great
$3,000 for clip (shipping in there)
$1,00 for labor (thats what my shop told me)
$500 for intercooler
LOTS of lil charges for hoses, belts, fuilds, and piping. Not only that, but they dyno it for you too.

I know I'll be taking a good hard look at these guys when/ if I go to swap

A 3s/5s or any s series will not bolt up to a 7a/4a or any a series transmission, and why would you want to. A 7a transmision would probably last about a month, if your nice to it.

A $1.00 for labor that is pretty cheap! Either way its a good deal, they use a spearco FMIC and piping that is about a $1000 not $500.

I highly doubt the exhuast will be included in that price. Sucks too, exhuast is couple hundred.

There's some other things you guys need to consider with that swap. Sure it cheap and great and only $4,300. But then you should buy:
turbo timer
boost gauge
manual boost controler
3" or 2.5" exhaust (if you dont already have it)

You'll be up to 5k in no time

I emailed them about the exhaust and the auto to manual conversion. Here is what I got in return:

Jennifer,
The 3" exhaust would run $275.00 for N1 style muffler with 3" catback piping. Auto to manual would run around $600.00 inlcuding parts and labor. We are now setting up appointments for mid august so let me know when you would like to bring down your car.

thanks

Heres another place to check out:
IA Motorsports GT-2 Conversion
Probably pretty comparable to XAT in price after the custom intercooler and tranny swap.

I wish i did.....there really needs to be a place in the North East that does the 3SGTE swap. I'm sure theres shops around here that are capable of performing the swap, but they dont advertise it at all, and probably wouldnt know much about what you were trying to do without research.

I just wish there were the same kind of shops up here as there are in Cali and Florida... rolleyes.gif Then again, a trip to Florida could make for a nice road trip. wink.gif

Im not so sure about that....it takes much longer to get everything right and do the wiring than that.

I'm talking professional shops in the Northeast that would perform the swap and do it right. Without having to travel 4000 miles to get it done, that is.
