I just got my tranny today, so now its time to look for L.S.D......

I've looked at kaaz and quiafe. Kazza is asking 880 for the unit, quiafe is asking 1200. I was wondering, do any of you guys know where I could get others ?

I'm trying to find something less expensive, thats not garbage. I would like to get the engine in next month. If I have to shell out 880 + shipping, Then it will bring back the swap date even further.

I have a 3sge curren tranny, which is the same as the 5sfe(gt tranny).

Any help would be appreciated thanks for the help guys

Almost all LSD's for all cars are expensive. $880 doesnt sound too bad. I beileve Cusco also makes diffs as well and Peloquin.

for that tranny, i would say go with TRD. The price is basicly the same, so it's really up to you.

phantom grip. $300. Last time I checked they didn't have one for the 6th gen but they did have one for the 5th gen. If they still dont, they are willing to make one but you have to send them a part.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

My question is why are you getting an L.S.D? If you accelerate around a corner to hard you could do some serious damage to a lot of different components. Its nice for straight/drag driving, but for anything with turns you are going to go through parts like there is no tomorrow.

Hes not lookign at Locked diff's hes looking at Limited slip diff's. Huge difference. I suggest doing research before you go around saying stuff like this. LSD's are made to help out hard cornering by keeping power distributed more equal to both wheels so that exit speeds will be faster. If TRD makes on for his trans im sure it wont cause that many problems.

Last time i checked, TRD still made one. They discontinued the hellical type, but they still make the clutch type.

(not sure if i spelled hellical correctly)

The only problem is that it's a special order, and it'll take 4-6 weeks to arrive.

My bad, all I know is what I have been told and what I have seen. Plus I mistook the Limited slip for locked for some reason. Sorry I have been sick and the brain just aint workin right. My apologies, all knowing god of transmissions. rolleyes.gif

I wasn't recommending it. He just asked for less expensive options. Its the only one I know about under $700. I have also read some reviews on it with people that are happy. That said, if it were me, I would pony up the extra cash.
