1exquizitcelica or whoever had 20" wheels on his car...I think he had air bags or hydraulics too though.

I'm running 18x8" wheels with 225/40-18 tires and a 1.5" drop and I'm fine with no rubbing.

I think 20's are waaaaaaay too big on our cars.

I'm pretty much with everyone else...18x8's, 215/35/18's, 1.75" drop with no rubbing...although I want to get a 40 series tire next. I think the 35's are a little too thin for my taste.

18's with 225/40 isn't much better than 19's with 225/35's wink.gif

18's with 225/40= 1.2" bigger than stock (5.1% slower speedo than stock)
19's with 225/35= 1.3" bigger than stock (5.5% slower speedo than stock)

I dont think I should worry

Tufy - I'm not bashing - you definately know your stuff, but I've been told by EVERYONE the same as what you told me. I did my homework and I'll be fine.

i'm not doing a drop, but maybe someone can educate me, wouldn't a drop make them more likey to rub, rather then stock? anyway bkohler81 has 19's and i don't think did any kind of drop and his look the best i've ever seen, to me anyway. i will actually prolly end up getting those same motegi rims, they are amazing.

because cyprus roads are like sh*t, i am afraid of using 225/35's.. rolleyes.gif even some times 225/40. i dont mean that you ll have proplems for sure. but if your clutch life is 5 years it ll go 3 years..
when i put 17''s to my 5th gen celica (orginal was 15'') every one told me those think too. and i answered them if clutch burns, i buy new. i want to see those 17'' rims on my car. biggrin.gif i changed my clucth in one year.

I agree that any increase in size will hurt the clutch. However, I wouldn't advise someone with 19's to go with 18's on a larger tire. As I posted earlier, the two are almost the same size. 17's with 40's are almost perfect for a Celica. Same size as the original tire/rim combo. Also, an increase of 1.3" like my tires are wont destroy the clutch like most think. It all depends on how you drive. Being chrome 19's with little tires... I dont drive too aggresive. But maybe if my clutch does go out, I'll pay ACT another visit wink.gif I miss my 2600.
